Lakeside Hospital of pneumonia. It
w.141 a sudden attack that came upon
him last Wednesday and on Friday ne
cessitated his removal to the hospital.
His condition steadily grew worse. He
was SI years old snd hud been engaged
In newspaper work since 1911.
Frank Glbb waa born In Seattle and
attended grammar school here. When
it became time for him to enter high
school he went to Belllnghara with his
parentis. Mr. and Mrs. Harry W. Glbb.
In his senior year ho became a reporter
on the Belllngham Kevellle. working
after school. Later he was on the Brit
ish Columbian, at New Westminster,
B. C. where he also acted as corre
spondent of the Post-Intelllgencer.
February. 1S1J. he was made sport
ing editor of the iSrsttle fun when that
newspaper began publication. Later he
became sporting editor of the Seattle
Mar. which position he held until his
death. He waji a former student of the
Cnlverslty of Washington and a mem
ber of tSlgma Alpha Epsilon.
The funeral will be held Tuesday af

nothing can keep the South Portland
football team from winning the 1915
championship. Manager Mike De Cicco's
aggregation trimmed the Columbia
Park Juniors '14 to 0 on the Columbia
Park grounds yesterday afternoon, and
although one more contest is sched
uled for South Portland against the
Junior Moose next Sunday, the result
of the fray will have no power to keep
South Portland from the title.

in the house leagues at the Multnomah
Amateur Athletic Club yesterday morn
ing. Captain Edwards' aggregation
won the championship of the American
circuit by defeating Captain Lewis
players 17 to 11. while Captain Smyth
and Captain Towey fought it out lor
the cellar title of the National League.
Smyth won 19 to IS in, a spirited affair
The championship of the National
delegation will be settled next Thurs
day night in the club gymnasium, when
Captain Sharp's team meets Captain
Ray Toomey's five. The winner will
play a three-game series with Captain
Edwards' team, starting next Sunday

ray, the latter of Winnipeg, will arrive
today in time to attend the first offi
cial workouts of the Portland profes
sional ice hockey players this after
noon. Both puck chasers were sup
posed to be here yesterday, but word
was received by Manager Savage last
night that his athletes would not arrive
from the North until this morning.
Eight Uncle Sams are to be out this
afternoon at the Portland Ice Hippo
drome to go through their workout
stunts between 2 and 3 o'clock. Prac
tice will be held each day and before
Wednesday the entire squad which will
represent Portland in the Pacific Coast
Hockey Association will be on hand.
J. George Keller, assistant manager
of the Portland Ice Hippodrome, has
opened a new feature which will be held
every Sunday afternoon immediately
after the regular skating session has
been completed. Speed races will be
held. In the first race yesterday
Walter Park finished first, while Charles
Uksila, former Multnomah Amateur
Athletic Club hockey player but now one
of the Portland Uncle Sams, was second.
In the relay race the Lincoln High
School quartet, composed of G. Raab. K.
Kaufmann, H. Breidenstein and P. Will
eford, had an easy time winning from
a picked team at the Portland Ice Hip
podrome. The Lincoln boys have issued
a challenge to any relay team in Port
land for a match race. Each skater
must go a quarter of a mile, in the
relay, while the speed race is a half
mile.
