LeRoy. - At the special business meeting, held on Tuesday night by the congregation, announcement or tne resignation wa.i aade and accepted. a BASE LINE EXTENSION SURE New Iioad Will Re Shorter and Grade Iteduced to Two Per Cent Tlie extension of the Base Line road from the intersection of the Troutdale crossroad to the ianJy River, at the grounds of the Portland Automobile Club. Is considered assured. This ex tension will shorten the Base road about two miles and cut off several steep hills. This extension has been sought for several years. The distance of the extension is 1 mild, the grade nowhere being; more than 2 per cent. The grade on the present road is more, than S per cent in many places. It Is thought that the cost of the new road will be about 150.000. One concrete bridge will be require!. The petition carried 1100 names of properly owners. Members of the Vista House Associa tion are hoping earnestly that next Sunday will be a fair day, for next Sunday is to be 11000 day for the asso ciation, and, dtrange as it may seem, their soliciting campaign headquarters will be out on Crown Point, where the Vista House is to be erected. The Vista Housa is planned to Be a finishing touch to the crest of the point and to serve not only as a restroom for travelers on the highway but as a ru ling, memorial to the pioneers of Or9- Bon.
