James Cartwriglit, Canter Victim,

Despondent because of poverty and
an incurable cancer, James Cartwright,
aged 68, a pioneer merchant of Bandon
and Coquille, shot and killed himself
early yesterday morning at the Good
Samaritan hospital. The body was dis
covered at 5:30 when a nurse entered
the private room assigned to Mr. Cart
