Commissioners Face Task of IXe- 1 districting County to Apportion 4 Voters More Evenly Total to Be S75 Precincts. Forty-nine new precincts must be created In Multnomah County before the registration books open at the Courthouse the first Monday in Janu ary. Tabulating a list of tha registered voters in each of the 326 precincts now existing. County Clerk Coffey has found that 49 have outgrown their legal size, and the County Commissioners must ef fect an entire re-districting to appor tion the voters more evenly. The law allows only 30 voters to a precinct. Some of the Multnomah County precincts have grown so rapid ly In the ast two years that they now far exceed this number. When tiie re districting Is completed there will be a total of 375 precincts in Multnomah County. An array of 3750 officials will be required to conduct an election in all the polling places.
