Peltier, both Ira point of age and residence the oldest mer chant of Stev n County, died at his home at Fruitland Sunday after a short Illness which developed from a .severe cold. He had been about his business in the atore until a few days before the end. and his death was a shock to the people of the Columbia Klver Val ley, among; whom hei has lived for nearly 30 years. Mr. Peltier was born in SL -Roch. Canada. September 26. 1833. He secured the establishment of a postofflce near here and called it Krultland, and vas ror many years us postmaster.
