KEX.TEWICK, Wash., Sept. 12. (Spe cial.) The town is draped In bunting and flags, exhibits ol livestock, fruits, all farm products and of industries have been assembled and are in place, the programme is complete and every thing in readiness for the fifth annual Columbia River Valley Grape Carnival, which opens here tomorrow. There will be three days cf merry making. celebration and Jubilation and Queen Concord i will reign supreme. The celebration will open with a pa rade participated in by over 500 school children, many decorated automobiles, floate. the Kennewick band. Kennewiclc fire department in uniform, cowboys and cowgirls. After the parade C. A. Iteynolds. chairman of the Public Serv ice Commission, will make the opening address. A programme of sports, contests of all kinds and Fletchers Carnival Com pany will furnish a varied line of amusements. Speculation is rife as to -who will reign as queen during the celebration. Not until, with fitting ceremonies and music, the royal party enter the open pavilion built for the coronation will the public know who the queen is. The Kennewick band, under the di rection of Frank L. Young, composer of the "State of Washington" and a spe ciiil march for this occasion, will fur nish a varied programme of music On Tuesday Senator Weslev L. Jones Will speak. Other prominent men of the state, including the Public Service v ommission and Assistant Attorney Oeneral Henderson, will speak during the celebration. Late Apples Ordered. HOOD RIVER, Or., Sept. 12. (Spe cial.) The Fruit Growers" Exchange yesterday announced the first order for later varieties of local commercial ap ples, calls having been made for Hood Kiver Jonathans.
