Practically the entire parrlson encamped at Fort Steven for the pur pose of tralnlr.it aurlng the "sir period" preceding target practice are seriously 111 from some unknown cause The peculiar ailment first manifested Itself laat Friday, when more than half of the men In cumj complained of se vere cramps. A number were unfit for duty the following day. The cause wa attributed to a mixed dish served for upper that evening. Last night and today many were obliged to secure medical attention. A thorough Inspection of the camp site cooking utensils and water receptacles fails to bring to light the source ot the mysterious ailment. A careful investigation conducted by Captain Waldron reveals the surprising fact that some of the men who were suffering bad not eaten at camp, others had eaten only certain foods and were found to suffer from the game symp toms at first attributed to other forms of oiet. Many had not been in camp at alL The extreme care with which Army food Is guarded from possible conta gion makes the affair Inexplicable.
