DALY'S SWITCH OX JITXEY OH- DIXAXCE DISAPPROVED. Mayor Albee and Mr. Baker Think Ex pressed Wishes at Electors Should Be Carried O.f. With Mayor Albee and Commissioner Baker strongly in favor of the- enact ment by the Council of the jitney reg ulation ordinance in the exact form in which tt was adopted by the voters in June, a Councilmanic fuss is probably in store for tomorrow morning when the Council , takes up consideration of the proposed new ordinance as prepared by Commissioner Daly. The new ordi nance has eliminated from it all the provisions of the original ordinance to which jitney drivers objected. Mayor Albee and Commissioner Baker have made their desires in the matter known. The stand of the others will not be known definitely until tomor row when the question is brought up for consideration finally. The alteration of the ordinance by Commissioner Daly is looked upon as the forerunner to almost endless delay in passing an ordinance in any form. To pass the ordinance in such form that it will not be subject to the ref erendum will necessitate unanimous vote of the Council. To pass it with out an emergency clause wuum mean the Invocation of the referendum, which would hold it up for two years in spite of the fact that the people passed the same measure by a big majority two months ago. Commissioner Baker says he can see no reason whv the ordinance should bo changed from the form it was in when it was adopted by the voters. The measure as adopted then was pre pared and voted for by Commissioner nalv. A lively fuss is looked for to morrow when the proposition i3 aired.
