LATIN ENTERS DIPLOMAS Compromise Victory Won in Contest at Willamette Law School. PALEM, Or.. April 4. (Special.) For the first time in the history or the Willamette College of Law, a depart ment of Willamette University, the diplomas of the graduates this year will be printed partly in Latin. Heretofore they have Deen in English and a determined fight was made to have them in English this year. How ever, about half of the class favored Latin, and the use of both languages was agreed upon at a meeting Satur day night as a compromise. The name of the school, names of the graduate and words "Bachelor of Law" will be in English and the other part of the diploma in Latin. PROHIBITION BRINGS ORDER Vancouver Arrests for Drunkenness Show Enormous Decrease. VANCOUVER, Wash., April 4. (Spe cial.) Since local option has become effective in Vancouver the number of arrests for drunkenness has dropped almost to the vanishing point. In February. 1914. the number of ar rests for drunkenness was 57, as against only six in February. 1915. the first full month of the dry regime.
