Sev eral other deala were only prevented by narrow margin between buyers and seller. Oats and barley moved up with wheat, bid prices being raised 60 cents to 1.2J a ton on the various deliveries. Yakima advices noted the sale of the Conchlne lot of 81 bales There was a strong demand In California, but no business was reported, as growers have raised their prices. The latest trade circulars of London deal ers say: Wild, Keimt Co. There has been a , fair amount of business passing during the week and values, more especially for cop per descriptions, are harder. Thornton it Manger There Is a gradual development of business and several sales have been effected at full rates. Currency ranges from 60s for very brown to 100s for extra choice; the bulk of business is done st 65s to 75s. W. II. & H. Le May There has been more business done during the past week and prices have somewhat hardened for all classes of good copper qualities. Manger & Henley There has been e strouser and better Inquiry during tho past week with a fair amount of business doing and a much firmer tone prevails with a decided hardening tendency all round. Worcester There has been rather more Inquiry for useful lots of bops, and prices are In turn dearer when business results. HoMc-a do not offer freely and are asking r mor.. money. 4 Dominion Tax Affects Butter Here. Ksga were quoted lowor yesterday, sales being made at 13 and 33 cents' case count The northern demand was checked by the weakness of the California market. Poultry receipts were light and chickens were firm. Ducks and turkeys dragged. Dressed meat were steady to firm. City creamery butter -was quoted steady though the new price was not general. The British Columbia market for cube ha been closed temporarily by the imposition of the Dominion war tax. Celery Will Be Advanced. Receipts of green produce were small yes terday and all lines were firm on the street. A .raised car of vegetables from San Fran cisco cleaned up quickly, cauliflower going at 13 and sprouts at t oenta. A car of celery is close at hand, the only ene known to be rolling. Checking up of the -w heat In the warehouse reveals that about 25 per cent of tho crop remains in the hands of the farmers, and that there are some good-sized lots still in the warehouses. Among" those yet unsold are Thomas Martin, 25,000 bushels; CJcorge Struth ers. 30.000 bushels; Lyons, 90.000; Welch and Harvey. 30.000: Minnick, 30,000; Dan Donovan, 20,000; Joe Harvey, 25,000. Prices are down and there has been little grain sold recently. Ex-Governor Miles C. Moore disposed of. a few thousand bushels of first quality club at $1.50 last week, the record price. Prices Saturday were 10 cents below this figure.
