Bigger money, easier money, quicker money made raising hogs than" in any other kind of farming. The famous Los Molinos Irrigated district in the Sacra mento Valley is producing hogs at less cost than anywhere else in the world. THIS IS WHY: The remarkable yield of alfalfa under Irrigation 10 tons per acre makes it pos sible to pasture SO head of hogs per acre during the growing seaeon. Allowing 300 pounds of grain per hog, which is ample to produce a 200-pound hog on alfalfa pasture, an acre of land will yield enough grain to feed and fatten 2U head of hogs. That is, you can produce 2500 pounds of barley per acre, harvesting it in May and follow with a crop of Kaffir, yielding 3000 lbs. to 4000 lbs. per acre. As you should cut some of your alfalfa to provide Winter forage, the areas of alfalfa and grain land should be about equal. With hogs only 7 cents you can produce $150 worth of hogs per acre a year. And vr... nftl lit tli. money to start. A few prolific brood sows will soon siock your place. Best land and most abundant water In California. Only 1-10 down. Already in cultivation.
