There Is a deadlock In the Northwestern
market, so far as new wheat business Is
concerned. The Government's huge crop
estimate, and the weakness it caused in
the Eastern markets, have Intimidated for

Poultry continued weak. Not many coops
were received, but more than enough were
carried over from Saturday to fill all or
ders. Hens sold at IS cents and broilers
at 18 cents. Other kind, of poultry was
wanted at any price.
Owing to the difficulty of handling veal
during the hot spell, shipment, are very
light and for th. best up to 12H cents
was quoted. Pork waa steady at 1014 cents.

Receipts at the Stockyards yesterday were
not as heavy as customary at the opening
of the week. There waa a good demand
throughout the day and prices were firm In
all parts of the list.
Twenty loads of steers were sold at prices
ruiini from S7.05 to 87.80. The bulk of
sales were at 87.50 to S7.75. Good cows
ranged In price from 86.25 to 87, bulls
brought 84.75 to 85 and heifer. Se-60.
The hog market waa 15 cent, higher than
at the close of last week, seven loads of
light swine selling at 88 to 88.05. Heavy
hogs were correspondingly firm.
Sales In the sheep house were within the
range of last week's ouotatlons, wethers
bringing 84.75 and 84.80. ewes 88.60 to S4.25
and lambs SO. , .
Receipts were 814 cattle, 1 calf, 815 hogs
and 1347 sheep.

market probabilities was held In abeyance
today and price movements were narrow.
No progress was made toward clearing up
