LlgittJiU'ower Company, the Oregon Electric Railway, and officials of the Automobile Club, at 9 o'clock this morning In Room 210, police head quarters, to outline, their action In the matter. They will decide whether to submit to fines in the cases now pending, with the Intent to appeal and determine the validity of the ordinance, or to fight the matter In the Municipal Court. The two corporations are defendants in the cases through the arrest of motormen and conductors for alleged violation of the ordinance. The city ordinance is said to be in conflict with the state auto law, in that the state law prescribes that automo biles and other motor vehicle head lights shall be visible plainly 200 feet in the direction in which the machine is going. The sidelights of automobiles are said to be not visible for that dis tance, and the headlights are said to bo contrary to the city ordinance. In that they cast a glaring light. Police were busy Wednesday night, with the result that autoists and motor, men and conductors on city and inter urban lines were arrested. They were notified to appear in Municipal Court yesterday morning, and the compro mise meeting was agreed upon. The City and District Attorneys will be rep resented at the meeting. Among those arrested were "Bud" Anderson, the Vancouver lightweight pugilist, and Harrison Allen, attorney for the Portland Railway, Light t Power Company. BILL AT PEOPLES PLEASES "Diplomatic Flo," Three-Reel Fea ture, Heads Programme. The performance yesterday at the People's Theater was an agreeable sur? prise to the crowds that attended. The bill was so diversified that it met the requirements of every picture fan. The three-reel feature. Diplomatic Flo, with Flornce Lawrence and Mat Moore as the stars, was an unusually good picture. The story concerns the adventures of an ex-president of one of the Brazilian countries, trying to get arms and am munition smuggled from the United States to his country. "Diplomatic Flo" succeeded in thwarting his plan. - . Another big feature played by the Bmalleys, with an all-star distinctive cast, was "The Spider and Her Web.'
