BARK LEAKS BADLY Hinemoa May Be Brought to This Port for Repairs. DIVER REPORTS DAMAGE Bulwarks on Fort Side Suffer and Some of Vessel's Forestays Are Carried Away- In Collision. , Thlstlebanlc Ready to Sail. Following; an examination made yes terday by a diver the full extent of the damaf-e to her plates became known. It. was first sUDDOied that the start ins; of a rivet was responsible for a small leak discovered, but early yes terday the master reported an In crease In the flow, yet no injury was located below the water line that was decreed responsible. The bulwarks on her port side suf fered and some of her forestays were carried away as a result of the Thlstia bank's Jibboom bavins swung through them. It was understood last night that efforts would be made to find the ak and If possible have repairs made jit Astoria, it being reasoned that dam age above the water line could be tem porarily fixed so the vessel could pro ceed to Europe. Captain Kennedy, superintendent V the North Pacific Coast for Andrew "Weir & Company, owning the Thistle bank, went to Astoria to look after her repairs. Her damage Is reported to consist of a bent jibboom. the loss of a few stays and the denting of several plates on her starboard bow. Repairs were completed on her last night, how ever, and she will be ready for sea to day. It Is the second accident for the Hinemoa sinca she arrived November 7 from Newcastle-on-Tyne. A few days .rrr herthinsr at the North Bank dock fire broke out in her forepeak and destroyed stores and wrought other damage. The Thlstlebank figured in the llme Jijrht because when on the way here to load wheat she put into Port Town tend, her master reporting a shortage of provisions, and she made three Inef fectual attempts to get away, being driven back to refuge every time by houtherly gales. She gained Astoria finally with but two days to spare. Her charter was for 41s 3d. November SO cancelling. COAST LIMBER RATES GO CP Daisy Gadsbjr First Carrier Taken at Advance of $1.
