A largo high-pressure area occupies the
territory between the Rocky Mountains and
the Mississippi River. The barometer Is
relatively low over the middle -Mississippi
Valley, the New England States and In Cal.
lfornla and Arisona. Light snow has fallen
in the Plains States as far south as Okla
noma and light rain Is reported from a few
pieces in the Ohio Valley, Lakes Region and
Middle Atlantic States. It Is much colder
In Northern Texas, Eastern New Mexico,
Eastern Colorado, Oklahoma. Kansas, Ne
braska, Iowa, Minnesota .and the Dakotas.
The temperature has risen In the middle
Mississippi Valley.
The conditions are favorable for generally
fair weather In this district Wednesday
except in Western Washington, where cloud
