Idaho Retail Jewelers' Association Selects Boise as Meeting Place and Elects Officers. WEISER, Idaho. Aug. 6. (Special.) The deal closed several days ago by Miles Cannon, .pf, thi, city, for his en tire prune crop at the top price has re sulted in renewed activity in the prune industry throughout this valley. It means the prune output will be grreatly Increased. The Bale was made through the Northwestern Fruit Exchange, and the amount Involved, it is reliably reported, was approximately 140,000. The Cannon orchards are at Nyssa, and the output this season. It is estimated, will reach more than 40 carloads. Special interest is attached to this deal from the fact that the majority of srrowers of this valley are members or the Welser River Fruit Association, which, is allied with the Northwestern Exchange, through which this sale was effected. The outlook for a banner crop this season is excellent, and the growers are greatly encouraged. After electing officers for the com ing year, selecting Boise as the meet ing place in 1914 and adopting resolu tions, the second annual convention of the Idaho Retail Jewelers' Association closed a two days' meeting here yes terday. More than SO were in attend ance, coming from sffl parts of the state, and many were present from other states. A reception and smoker was held at the Commercial Club rooms Monday night. The officers are: President. B. F. Griffin. Boise: first vice-president. W. F. Strother, Payette; second vice-president, E. D. Harrison, Pocatello; third vice-president, Walter R. Prlebe, Twin Falls; secretary and treasurer, William Fifer. Council. Another peaceful Japanese-American alliance was effected here yesterday when Frank K. Takumi and Mrs. Emma Mowery. both of Nyssa, Or., were mar ried. The couple will reside at Nyssa. where the bridegroom is engaged in the restaurant business. DAILY CITY STATISTICS Marriaav Licensee. May Connor yesterday caused Coris to be fined $100 in Municipal Court. The liquor was purchased Sunday by Po licemen Burke and Sherwood from the girl in Coris' hotel, the Minnesota, on Third street. In his own defense Coris asserted that the woman robbed his rooms to get the beer.
