WEATHER CONDITIONS.
A weak high pressure area overlies Brit
ish Columbia and the North Pacific states
and tho barometer Is relatively low over
a strip of territory extending from Arizona
northeastward to the Great Lakes. No pre
cipitation of consequence nas occurred on
the Pacific Slope, but showers have been
general In the Mississippi Valley and the
lakes region, and local rains have fallen
at a few places In the ACentl? states. It
Is slightly warmer on the Pacific Slope and
decidedly warmer In Texas. Oklahoma, Kan
sas and Westcrn Iowa. The conditions are
favorable for Increasing cloudiness In this
district Saturday. probably followed by
showers In western Oregon and western
Washington.

variable winds becoming southerly.
