' Guy L. Anderson, who went to Baker a few months ago to become general manager of the Sumpter Valley Rail road, has been made a director of the Baker Commercial Club- and chairman of the Immigration and advertising committee of that organization. Mr. Anderson is greatly interested in the development of the territory tributary to the Sumpter Valley "road, which, he thinks Is one of the most fertile districts in the state, and he Is seeking to attract desirable Immigrants to the Idle farms In that section. In furtherance of this plan S. S. Landis, the chief traffic officer of the road, has been In Portland for the last few days attending the meeting of German citi zens who are striving to bring some of their countrymen to Oregon. Thinness of the blood, or anaemia. Is common in yountf (oiks as well as old. Especially is It the case with those who work in Illy ventilated factories or those who are shut up indoors in winter time with a coal stove burning up the oxvgen or emitting carbonic (oxidf) gas. This blood, or blood which lacks the red blood corpuscies, in anaemicfcople may have been caused by lack of good fresh air breathed Into lungs, or by poor digestion or dyspepsia. Sometimes people suffer intense pain over the heart which is not heart disease at all, but caused by indirection. Whatever the cause, there's just one remedy that you can turn to knowing that it has given satisfaction for over 40 years. D R- PIERCE'S GOLDEN MEDICAL DISCOVERY is a blood cleanser and alterative that starts the liver and stomach into vigorous action.
