"Because be wrecked my borne and In terfered with the family relations. I shot Barney Chamberlain," Is the ex planation of Jackson F. Adams, who is belns held In the city Jail on a charsre of murder. In adjolnina; cells are Mrs. Adams and her 16-year old daughter and Q. H. Smith, who are be ing; held as witnesses. The shooting occurred in the outskirts of the city about o'clock last night but was not reported until this morning. Adams claims that Chamberlain had been paying; marked attention to Mrs. Adams for several months and on that account he and his wife had separated. On account of his daughter he said he had sought a reconciliation and was to have met his wife and daughter last evening. They failed to appear, so he went to the family home and finding Chamberlain there fired two bullets Into him. killing b!ra instantly. No other persons were in the house at the time. Mrs. Adams and her daugh ter having gone to a friend's home to spend the night. v After the shooting Adams went to the residence of the police officer to surrender himself, but finding no one there, returned to his room and retired. An Inquest wll be held tomorrow. Lewis ton Trees Fair Appropriation. LEWISTON, Idaho, ' Feb. 19. (Spe cial.) Resolutions were adopted by the Commercial Club yesterday and forwarded to Boise memorialising the Legislature to make such appropria tions as will enable the State of Idaho to participate In Ihe Panama-Pacific Exposition in a manner befitting Its dtsrnlty and importance.
