Bend, were In Vale this week circu
lating; petitions to present to the Ore
sjon Legislature to secure an appro
priation of $20,000 for construction of
a. waeron bridge across Snake River
near Parma, Idaho.
These petitions have been presented
In tile various towns of Malheur Coun
ty. Under present conditions Big
Bend farmers must ferry themselves
-across the river or fro miles out of their
-way to reach this city, a circumstance
which, the petitions declare, must be
remedied If Oreson expects to retain
the trade of the Bis Bend country ast
of the Pnske River.
