Dalles City, Oregon, hereby calls for Mds
for the bonds of the city in the amount
of the cost of the construction of a sewer
age system, which is estimated at $.000.

of Five Hundred Dollars ($500) each, bear
ing date of July 15, 1012, and bearing In
terest at a rate not to exceed ihx Pr cent
per anum, payable e mi-annually, princi
pal and interest payable in United States

These bonds are a general obligation
of Dalles City, due and payable .on the
15th day of July. 1937. but Dalles City
reserves the right to pay the bonds at
the expiration of any semi-annual inter
est period at any time after twenty years

A complete certified transcript of all
proceedings on the part of the Cocncil of
Dalles City In reference to the issuance
and sale of said bonds has been forwarded
to Storey, Thorndike. Palmer A Dodge
No. 735 Exchange Building, Boston, Mass.,
who have been employed by Dalles City
to render their opinion as to the regular
ity of all proceedings upon the part of the
Council and the validity tnd legality of
the bonds, and the city's power to levy
and collect sufficient taxes to pay the
principal and interest of the bonds - at
maturity, and a to whether there is any
local law or regulation of taxation ana
exemption within Dalles City, or the coun
ty in which said city is situated, which
affects or Impairs the city's right to levy
a sufficient tax for the payment of the
principal and Interest of the bonds.
All bids may be subject to the uncondi
tional and unqualified opinion of said at
torneys upon all matters submitted to
them, and no bidder will be held bound
by his bid unless and until said attorneys
have rendered their unqualified and un
conditional opinion in favor of the regu
larity, validity and legality of said bonds,
and that they are a general obligation
of Dalles City, and that the city has full
power to levy and collect sufficient taxes
to -pay the principal and Interest of said
bonds, and that there is no local regula
tion of taxation and exemption within
Dalles City, or county In which it i situ
ated, which affects or impairs the city's
right to levy a sufficient tax for the pay
ment of the principal and interest of said
bonds at maturity. In all other respect
the bids must be unconditional.
The bonds will be furnished Ty Dalles
City, and will be prepared under the su
pervision and direction of said attorneys
nd approved by them as to their form,
regularity and validity. Bidders may name
the rate of interest, provided always, that
It shall not exceed per cent interest,
and said bonds can only be sold for par
and accrued Interest, and bids must be
made accordingly.
Each bid must be accompanied by a
certified check for not less than 5 per
cent of the amount of the bid to be for
feited to Dalles City in the event that said
bid is accepted and the bidder shall re
fuse to complete the purchase of the
