Arnold Keller, of Portland, Ben Sell
ing, in a letter received by the Secre
tary of State today, again went on
record regarding expenses Incurred by
him as candidate for the Republican
nomination for United States Senator.
Tour favor of th fifth tnst.. with COOT of
the affidavit of Arnold Keller, wm handed
to me yeaterdav (Sunday). July 14, in
th. State of Wyoming; he responds from
Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel In the Yel

Replying thereto, the affidavit i filed
Jnly 6, 1812, a date after the expiration of
the legal time In which such affidavit could
or should have been fUed under the corrupt
practices act and ! therefore null and void.
I affirm that the atatement of campaign
expenses heretofore filed In your office by
me does conform to the law and to the
truth. I deny that I spent about 110.000
dunnr the munths of January and Febru
ary. 1812. for letters and postage and return
postage and in other ways setting forth to
the Republican voters of Oregon reasons
why Jonathan Bourne, Jr., should not be
renominated for the office and reasons why
Ben Selling should be nominated.
I rim further that larjte sums were spent
on newspaper advertising during the same
period and other sums lor personal cn
lng In the Interest of said Ben Selllnt and
asalnst said Jonathan Bourne. Jr.
I affirm that there is no commissioner of
AMim for oreion nor notary public at Mam
moth Hot Springs. Wyoming. I will, if so
advised by my attorneys, repiy to iac kvui
plaint upon my return to Oregon.
Very respectfully yours,
BEN- 6ELI.t,INO.
