SHOW HAS (10 HOME Where Will Products Exhibit Exhibit, Is Plea. PRIZE WILL BE AWARDED Great Red Apple Given to Locator of Location for Pacific Northwest Display to Be Held Here November IS to CS. Wanted A location. This Is the plaint of the board of directors of the Pacific Northwest Land Product Show. Anyone who can locate a location should communicate with them at once. Probably a liberal reward will be paid for one. If delivered to Secre tary Bond at the Commercial Club. No ordinary little location will do. It muat be of the hand-picked, full sixe variety and must, moreover, be conveniently placed so as to be easily reached by Portland people, as well as by the thousands of visitors who are expected to be in the city November 18-21. A number of places have been sug gested to the special committee on lo cation appointed at a recent meeting of the board, of directors. These men have under, consideration the Gipsy Smith Auditorium, the Armory and a block of ground downtown. where, if necessary, it is possible a temporary display pavilion might be erected for the week of the land show. There are objections to all these places, and to settle on the best place to hold the exposition of soil products of the Pacific Northwest states prom ises to be the most vexing problem with which the directors will have to deal. They have their minds fully made up as to the purposes and scope of the show and have taken steps to secure the full co-operation of nearby states. But the matter of a suitable location Is causing worry in the minds of all those interested. This subject was discussed at the meeting of the board of directors yes terday at the Commercial Club and It was the consensus of opinion that a big red apple should be given to the one who could suggest a solution of the problem of where to hold the land show. The time was more easily disposed ml. Dates were fixed for November 18-21. B. I Thompson was added to the board of directors, and the Press Club, the Ad Club, the East Side Busi ness Men's Club, the Rotary Club and the Progressive Business Men's Club were added to the list of organiza tions backing the show. It having been learned that the above clubs are heartily in sympathy with the exposi tion and will co-operate fully. It was decided to have a publicity committee to arrange stunts and at tract attention, and J. Fred Larson was named chairman, while the remainder of the committee will be appointed later. Chairman John 8. Beall pre sided at yesterday's meeting, and there was a full attendance of di rectors. . Rock Crushes Ont Convict's Life. ASTORIA. Or, July t. (Special.)
