Regarding Sensational Talk
by Field Fa pert 8.
CHICAGO. May 2. Statements from
Kinpa-aDii Nebraska banker that crops
would ba all right if rain came In the next
six or sven. days tended to make wheat
speculators go low today reearrtlng sensa

Ta Ice in the courae of the session bull
nes carried wheat above last nticht's level.
The latest tidings of thl sort were that th
extreme dry bell In Kansas contained 1.500.

total waa probably worthleea and that tha
remainder promised only a small yield.
Et of the drouth district the crop. It was

Aside, however, from mora conservative
report through financial channels, the char

br th fact of the holiday tomorrow. .V
general desire to reduce open risks brought
about heavy realizing on tha part of the
lonc and In the end helped pull down the
markrt as a whole.
Announcement of another record-breaking;
wheat crop In India had some bearish effect.
The total growth waa officially estimated
at more than 1.000.00 bushels in excess of
the big figurea nf a yaar ago.
Country offer! ne of corn exhibited some
Increase. Th weather aluo was in the main

May option, apparently without substantial
reasons.
It was a choppy market In oats.
Provision wer weak. There was no great
