Walker Wilson Pleads Guilty to Vagrancy and Is Sentenced to Serve Six Months. "Every man his own examining- phy sician," was the plan used by Q. Walk er Wilson to get recruits for the non existent "Bison Herd of North Ameri ca," for which be received yesterday In Municipal Court a sentence of six months at the rockplle. Out of 10 known victims who paid Wilson $5 or $10 to become a "Bison." all are physicians, and each one. It de veloped yesterday, was promised the position of examining physician. For passing upon the eligibility of candi dates they were to receive $2.60 from each applicant. From information received from San Francisco, the detectives learn that Wilson operated on the same plan there, but had a short run, because one of the first men approached happened to be a police surgeon. Some of the documents found on the person of the prisoner verge upon the ludicrous. A typewritten copy of the by-laws had been drawn with a pro vision that no saloon-keeper should be eligible to membership, but this was stricken out and a clause inserted providing- that there should be no dis crimination against men In the liquor business. The constitution provided that all true Bisons were to wear a white fez with tassel. Membership of the supreme lodge was limited to 150.- 000. A "black book" was to be kept for the recording of the names of Bisons who proved false to their trust Wilson carried a commission as su preme organizer, signed by himself The prisoner is a man of striking ap pearance, well dressed and appearing much younger than 49, which he gave as his age. He pleaded guilty to a charge of vagrancy and all othet charges are dropped. There were 186.917 negro soldiers In th Northern Army during the war of secession. iwJsTai Chick Life Insurance Insure the life and health of your baby chicks by feeding Routledge's High Quality Chick Feed, the most profitable and convenient food you can get.
