s degree of caution with numerous one-point
declines. This movement was followed by a
partial rally and In turn by another wave
of selling, under which price went lower
than at th opening. Dealing were in tre
mendou volume during the flrat hour and
almost entirely at the expense of values
The market continued dull and relatively
narrow during the afternoon, at which tlm
ther were upward movementa In American
Hugar and a number of obecure atock. The
active Hat hardened antll It affected much
of the early decline, but the dullness sug
gested further caution by the speculative
clement.

Central Oregon. When asked today about
th apparent discrepancy na to the dates
set by State Secretary Hoke, of Medical
Springs, and the local association. Secretary
H. C. Crooper. of the latter, aald:
'W will certainly adhere to the dates
chosen by us In making up the schedule of
dates. Secretary Hoke did not consult the
local organisation, and hie dates are two
weeks earlier than would suit our Interests,
since lt would not allow tome of th re
mota growers to get their wool her In
time for th sale.
