Range conditions In general throughout th- National forests Indicate that the early ranges are now and will continue in splen did shape, according to Portland officers of the Forest Service. There Is i-n unusually vigorous growth of grass on all the lower ransea and this, with their present excellent condition, will put the stock on the Sum mer ranges proper In-the best of condition. Marketable lambs of much better quality and weight than last year will be ready for tbe block b the time the Summer feed may he used. The snowfall through the district has. on the whole, been light, and a lack or moisture may be met with, causing the carry maturing of tbe grass range. This, however, will not affect the condition of atock on anges where water la plentiful and attention la given the proper handling of the stock and ranges. All stockmen, and psrtlcularly sheepmen, should anticipate a continued dry spell from June to August and make the best use of the grass ranges esrly. saving the more suc culent timber feed for use during the dry reason.
