Fanners hae bean using alsal to bind their fleecea Sim pi r because It waa handy and ao doubt when they and anything bat ter thay will be glad to discard tha sisal. Something must be done, or tha Valley wools will set a black are In tba Eastern market-" la this connection, ths following from tha Textile World Record, of Boston. Is of In terest: "A determined effort Is being made by tha wool trade to brio snout an Impress ment In the perk lux of domestic wool by the growers. Ths ebuaes con!st In ths ssa of sisal twins and In parkins? Inferior wool and rubbish In the fleeces. It Is Im possible for one who hss not hsd practical experience In manufacturing worsted goods to realise tha heavy losses to manufacturers resulting: from the use of slssl twlna for tying ap fleeces. "or the eake of an apparent savins of a few dollars they put up their wool In au-h a form aa to cause a loss of thousands of dollsrs to ths manufacturer. As a mat ter of fact, however, much of thle heavy aa Is final! T paid by the woolgrowers themselves through ths reduction In tha msrket price of wool tied with sleal twlna. "So serious baa tha troubls becoms that wool dealers ad manufacturers hava united in nrrter to force the growere to stop ths practice. Aa a result tha following- clrou Ur has been signed by the leaning- arms In the wool trade and distributed widely throughout lha woolgrowlng gectlong of. the country : For many years past ths wool merensnta of the I'nlted States hava mads Ineffectual efforts to indues tha woolgrowers to Im prove their methods In preparing wool for market. One of tha principal abuses Is tha tying up of fleec-s with sisal twine, or ao rallrd binder twlna. Tha loose fiber from the twine rllnge to the wool through all the processes of manufacture, and causes Imperfect goods, with consequent loss. "We believe If this serious matter la called to ths attrntioa of growers they will CO-operate with the dealers and discontinue the practice of tvlng their wool with such twins ss Is described, thereby putting Amer ican, wools In closer competition with those of foreign countries, Tft hereby agree to at ones notify all oar correepondents and buyers In the fleece wool section that wa ahaU not accept wool tied with steal twine, nor wool thst Is tied with an andua amount of siring aa raar chaa table."
