HARVESTER HEAD CALLED
McCormlck to Be Heard by Lorlmcr
Investigating Committee.
WASHINGTON', June IS. The Lorl
mer Investigating committee of the
Senate today appointed aa counsel John
Marble. of this city, and John J.
Healy. of Chicago. Mr. Marble for
years has been attorney for the In
terstate Commerce Commission. Mr.
Hraly served as counsel for the Helm
committee of the Illinois Senate In Its
Lonmcr Inquiry.
Although the committee's hearings
will not begin formally until Thurs
day. June II. a special hearing will to
given to Cyrus H. McCormlck. presi
dent of the International Harvester
Company, before that date. Mr. Mc
Cormtck sails for Europe the latter
part of next week and the committee
la desirous of obtaining his evidence
on the raisins; of the $100,000 fund al
leged to have been used In the elec
tion of Mr. Lorlmer.
According- to the testimony adduced
In the Inquiry the Harvester Company
was Invited to contribute 10.000 to
ward the fund.

Visit Their Alma Mater.

Or., June 15. (Special.) The banquet of
the Alumni Association of Willamette
Cnlverslty waa held at the Marlon Hotel
last evening. It was the best attended
function of the kind ever conducted by
Willamette Alumni, nearly JOO graduates
and faculty members being; In attend
ance. In addition to the regular pro

ing Eastern Oregon, spoke of educational
progress In that section of the state;
ex-President Hoyt contrasted the old or

L. M. RADER GIVEN MEDAL
Motorcyclist Hit by Horse.
In a collision with a horse and buggy
at McMillan and Lara bee streets, last
night. A. D. Hale, of 227 Seventh street,
was knocked from his motorcycle and
his leg was broken. The horse waa
not Injured and the driver did not stop
to learn how badly Hale was hurt.
Hale was taken to the Good Samaritan
Hospital In a Red Cross ambulance.
Ford Honor Goes to Portland Stu
dent of Willamette University.
WILLAMETTE UNIVERSITY, Salem,
Or., June 15. Special.) The Ford gold
medal given by Burgess Ford, of Port
land, an alumnus ofi Willamette, to the
member of the Willamette track and
field team working the hardest for the
good of the team and the most con
sistent trainer, was awarded to Luke M.

School star. Rader runs well In the
dashes and mid-distance runs; he is also
exceptionally strong In the running high
and broad Jumps, while his work with
the shot and discus is good.

weighs 190 pounds, his long runs in foot
