The livestock market was better supplied
yesterday than any day this week. The
larger part of th trading was in the mut
ton line. . , .
Severn! loads of yearling wethers sold at
f.1 2.1. the top quotation, and a bunch of
shorn lambs brought 5.4. Arother bit? lot
of 223 sheep sold at 45. Feeder sneop
found buyers at $1.79.
There was not much trade In the cattle
division. A load of choice steers sold at
as5, two loads brought 6.o and an
other $8.71. . . . . , . .
There were no sales of hogs, but eight
loads came In from Nebraska.

calves. 779 hogs and 1270 sheep.

little likelihood of a decline. Seattle deal-
era can now place local eirgs In storage at
about the sam price as Minnesota stock.
Poultry receipts were large but the price
held steady at 22 centa. Cheese was firm
13 centa. Nearly every a-uaier in beat tie
short. Butter waa steady.
The grain market waa unchanged la? all
divisions. There was no trading of any
consequence. The fact that the new crop
Is In excellent condition throughtuo the

Empire Graingrowers' Association, ac
cording; to an announcement made to
day by Senator C, A. Barrett, who Is
president of the association. The
price to be paid is i cents per baa;,
and though President Barrett would
not state to whom the contract for
furnishing the -bags is to be let, it is
understood that the Balfour-Guthrie
Company was the lucky bidder.
Barrett says the price 01 Dag's is
sure to advance. He thinks the asso
ciation has done well by its members

such a reasonable figure and that those
farmers who are- not signing up for
the bags will be compelled to pay 7
