Prisoner Witness Against Man
Charged With Killing Woman.

cution In th cue against Fred C. Gar
ner, who la on trial for the murder of
Mrs. Elsie Coohrane In this city last
October, produced today a witness to
whom Garner Is alleged to have made
a serious admission.
The . witness waa W. A. Laugrhlin, a
prisoner in the County Jail with Garner.
He testified that Garner told htm he
was with Mrs. Cochrane in a hotel the
night she was murdered.
The witness-said Garner also told him
that be would not be indicted because
four, members of the errand Jury had
been "fixed' and even if he wera Indict
ed." he would never be convicted, as ha
had too many friends in Danville.
