Greenburg. of Greentree, supposed to be
a resident of Portland, to notify her that
her father is dead at Sydney. Australia,
and has left a valuable property, prin
cipally in diamonds, of which she la one
of the only two htirs known to exist.
Request that the woman be found was

yesterday by the Chief Constable at Van

The decedent wae known as Louis
Herbert, or Lewis H. Sharer. He was
a native of Australia, but had spent

have had a divorced wife In San Fran
cisco. Besides Mrs. Greenburg. another
dauKhter, Mrs. Daisy Le Duckhall, Is aaid
to live In Now York.
With the letter the police officials In
closed a long list of articles of Jewelry
found In Sharer's possession, aggregating
over l'0 pieces, many being of high
value. He has been a pawnbroker and
is ewld to have been very eccentrl. with
tendencies to live as a miser. He died
