The 30 guests of the Hotel Lebanon were hastily awakened at o'clock thla morning and rushed In acanty at tire to the street when the bote burst Into flames. Ueorge Rice, a guest, leaped from a second-story window and escaped seri ous Injury. He failed to awaken when the first alarm was given and the fire cut off his egress to the stairway. Valuable Jewelry and many ward robee were lost. Miss Bernlce Carroll left a diamond ring lying on the dresser when she fled from her room. Several watches wera left behind by the male guests. The hotel was destroyed and the ho tel annex was damaged. The loss Is 111.000. It was a frame building. The fire started from a defective flua and hi beyond control when tee fire de partment arrived. The fire department fought hard to confine the fire to the hotel and annex. The losses are: J. C. Nicaragua, that the Honduran Congreas haa re fused to approve the Morgan loan transaction, waa supplied today by Senor Parades, the Honduran financial agent In this country, to negotiate the loan.
