tically no gill netters are now making drifts
in the Columbia, but a number of set nets
are out getting a few late sllTermldes and
early steeiheads. One cannery 1 ald still
to be packing fish. '
Steeiheads came In muoh earlier than usual
this year, and a few have been In the river
for the past two weeks. The principal run
ls. however, not expected until about Christ
mas time.
Two days ago a few amelt were seen at
th mouth of Gray river, showing that they
are beginning- to come In, and good haul
of this class of fish may be looked for in
about ten days or two weeks.
