NOTICE OF SALE OF BONOS.
Notice is hereby given that at a regu
lar meeting of the City Council of the
City of Independence, Polk County, Ore
gon, to be held at the Council chambers
of said city on the 2oth day of July, 1010,
at the hour of 8 o'clock P. M. thereof, the
said City of Independence will sell 6S ne
gotiable coupon bonds of said city, of the
principal amount of $ 17,00' t in the aggre
gate, as authorized by Ordinance No. 116
of said city, entitled: "A bill lor on Ordi
nance N. 116. An ordinance authorizing
the issuance and sale of bonds of the
City of Independence. Oregon, for the
purpose of raising funds for the construc
tion of a system of sewers In said City
of Independence. Polk County, Oregon,
providing for a 'sewer fund' for the pay
ment of the principal and interest of said
bonds and tho redemption thereof; declar
ing an Immediate emergency to exist and
excepting this ordinance from the effect
of the referendum," passed by the City
Council of said city on the "Jitth day of
June, 1010, and said ordinance took effect
and came into full force and effect from
and after its approval by said Mayor.
' iSald bonds are in denominations of $'27jO
each, payable 20 years from the first day
of August, 3010, (with the privilege, op
tional with said city, or paying said bonds
or any thereof at any time after the first
day of August, lt15. and bear interest at
the rate of 6 per cent per annum, payable
semi-annually from August 1, 1010, until
paid ; principal and interest payable at
the First National Bank of Portland, Ore
gon, in gold coin, without costs, charge,
or exoense to the Tmrohaaer or holder of
said bonds. Said bonds will be sold to
the highest bidder or . bidders therefor, but
will not be sold for less than their face
value. The said City Council reserves the
right to accept bids for any part of said
issue of bonds hereby advertised to be
sold. If bids for a part only of such bonds
be received, and also reserves the right
to reject any and all bids.
