NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS.
Notice is hereby given that, in pursuance
of ordinance No. 5. - now on file in the
office of the City Clerk, providing for the
construction, operation and maintenance
of a system of -water works in the town
of Cathlamet, Washington, adopted at a
regular meeting of the Council, held on
the od day of Jan., 1110, and authorized
ty a special election in said town as re
quired by law. on the 17th day of Jan.,
3!H). sealed bids wil! be received at the
office of the City Clerk until 10 o'clock
A. M.. Feb. 15. 1910. and publicly opened
immediately thereafter, for the furnish
ing of all materials and labor for the
construction and completion of a city
water works system, to be owned and con
trolled by the Town of Cathlamet in ac
cordance with the plans aoid specifications
filed with the City Clerk. The work will
be let to the lowest and best bidder there
for, and the contract to be entered Into
will provide that payment shall be made
for the work only by warrants upon the
"Cathlamet Water Supply Fund." as cre
ated and established by ordirauce No. 50.
and the contractor shall have no claim
against the Town of .Cathlamet except as
therein provided. Said ordinance provides
that said warrants shall bear interest at
the rate of 6 per cent per annum from
the date of isi,ue. payable semi-annually
on the first day of Jan. and July of each
year. Each bid must be accompanied by
a certified ch eck, payable to t ha order
of the Mayor' of Cathlamet. for a sum
equal to 10 per cent of the amount bid.
and no bid will be considered unless ac
companied by such check. The esti
mated cost of said system to be approxi
mately. $S00O. The successful bidder will
be required to enter into a contract and
furnish satisfactory bond for the amount
required by the town and laws of the
State of Washington, within ten days after
being notified of thje award of the con
tract to him. falling so to do. the said
check and the amount thereof shall be
forfeited to the town. All bids must be
made in accordance and compliance with
the plans and specifications now on fiie
