Salmon trap ping, threatened with suppression by State and National Governments becnuse It had been claimed the sockeye supply was being depleted to an extent that threatened the extinction of the fish through the operation of the traps. Is de clared safe by trapmen today, as the present runs, are showing that the supply has not been largely decreased. The waters of Juan de Fuca, Rosario Straits, Belllngham Channel and Gulf of Georgia are alive with fish, and the' traps are full. Four hundred and Blxty-four thousand salmoivwere landed at Anacortes, Belllng ham and Blaine during fhe 24 hours end ing at coon today. Tenders and scows could not be supplied fast enough to empty the traps, and with full pots many traps can take no more fish until they are brailed out.
