tion waa withdrawn at Mr. rania" re
quest. In a letter to Governor Hughes. Mr.

utterly without foundation and nothing
has been or can be developed which can

Watchman Shoots Himself.

Frank Balne. watchman at Young
A Hoover's camp, on the Humptullps
River. Is supposed to have shot himself
fatally this afternoon by the accidental
discharge of a Winchester rifle. The
news of the accident was telephoned here
and soon afterward Roy Young and
Doc" Hoover, accompanied by a physi
cian, started for the scene. Balne la a
single man about 40 years old. and his
home is in Seattle. The bullet is said
to have entered near the heart. It la not
believed that the case la one of attempt
ed suicide.
