Tint that advertisement did not excite
Ingle Inquiry. Now, I am bright enough
to realise that It was not the fault of the
advertising medium nor of the property.
that there were no returns, but that the
weakness lay in the advertisement. It was
not catchy" enough; It wa too much like
the stereotyped real estate ads. seen every
day In the papers. Ten thousand people
probably read the first two lines of that
advertisement; one thousand very likely
read It through, but It Is doubtful If more
than nnA or two Tieraon srave It other than
a passing thought. What It lacked was
originality; something to attract more tnau
a nAjiAlnr thnusrht: somethtnr to make the
reader THINK. If the reader with $1200
had stopped to think he would have reallred
at once that an exceptionally gooa invest
ment was belnsr offered, but there was noth
ing to excite particular attention, and so
he passed It np as he probably did several
hundred other similar sds.
Now I will pay $10 to any smart adver
tising man who will writ an advertisement
that will sell this lot. I know the property
1 all right: I know the price Is right, and
I know the man who buy It will be o well
pleaaed that he will become a regular cus
tomer of mine. That Is why I am axlou
to aell a good piece of property It brings
more business. The only thing lacking Is a
catchy advertisement that will bring the
buyer. If you have the Idea I will pay you
lor It.
