Supposed Evil-Speaking About Mem
ber of Congregation Makes' Con
science Kill Mind.
STERLING. 111.. June 17. Prom a
strong man physically and mentally to an
inmate of an insane asylum, -wrecked
both in mind and body, is the metamor
phosis of a prominent minister of this
city, through the hallucination that he
had told a lie about a member of his
congregation. Only a few weeks sufficed
to transform him from a vigorous, aggres
sive exponent of the gospel to a subject
for legal inquiry.
The Rev. Kzra Florry has for a. long
time been the pastor of the Church of
the .Brethren, better known as the
Dunkard Church, in this city. Mr.
Florry taught a literal interpretation of
the Bible. No wore of his mouth admitted
of doubt until a short time ago. His in
timate friends were puzzled one day to
hear him speak of injuring one of his
devotees by speaking untruthfully of htm.
Investigation showed that this only
existed in imagination and they en
deavored to remove the delusion, but to
no purpose. From dwelling upon the sub
ject among friends, the minister con
tinued until he included all to. whom he
talked in his self-denunciation. References
to the subject began to creep into his
sermons. Then he imagined himself pur
sued by the person he thought he had
wronged.
His case was taken into the Probate
Court and last night, after having been
adjudged of unsound mind, he was taken
to an asylum.

Predicts Business Revival.
WHEELING, W. V.. June 17. Presi

workers, left here today for Indianapolis
to attend, a meeting of the National
Board. Concerning the business eutlook
President Lewis says that the beginning
of July would see a spirited revival in
the mining and steel business. He said:
"All Lake boats will be in commis
sion after July 1 and they will have or
ders for ore shipments back from the
Northwest, whereas they have so far
this year only carried coal to the North
west and returned light, which kept
many boats from starting."
