son or to the corporation or corporations
offering the highest price therefor. A
separate proposal for each vessel bid
upon must ba submitted in a sealed en
velope addressed to the Secretary of the
Navy, Washington. D. C, Indorsed "Pro

S. " (naming; the vessel for which
offer Is made), and each proposal must
be accompanied by a satisfactory certi
fied check for not iess than 10 per cent
of the amount of the offer. On appli
cation to the Navy Department, forms of

the District of Oregon, on the 30th day
December. 1907, by Newton McCoy and
H. B. Nicholas, proctors on behalf of
Virgil K. Poland, by Edward N. Dead?,
guardian ad litem, as libelants, in a
cause of damages, civil and maritime,
against the steamer Ruth, her tacklo,
apparel and furniture, and praying the
usual process and monitloir-of the Court,
that all persons interested in said Ruth,
her tackle, apparel, machinery and furni
ture, may be cited to appear and answer
the premises and all due proceedings be
ing had. that the said Ruth may be de
creed to be sold, and the proceeds there
