Oregon State Insane Asylum hereby Invites
sealed proposals for furnishing the follow
ing supplies to the Institution for the six
months ending December 31, 1907: Groceries,
mill feed and flour, meats and fish, dry
goods, drugs, stationery, leather and findings,
shoes, plumbing. hardware, tinning, furni
ture, crockery and glassware. Lists of eaid
supplies will be furnished by the Clerk of
the Board upon application. Samples can
be seen at the Asylum, and goods must be
In accordance therewith. Where samples are
required and not furnished by bidders, the
articles must be equal to samples to be seen
at the Asylum, and bids will be assumed to
have been made on basis of samples. All
goods must be in strict accordance with
sample In original package when possible,
and delivered at the State Insane A6ylum
within 20 day after contract Is awarded,
and bids must be on blank forms, which
will be furnished, together with Instructions
to bidders, by the clerk, upon application.
Each bid on flonr or meat must be accom
panied by a certified check for $300, and each
bid on fish by a certified check for $75, and
all other bids by certified checks equal to 10
per cent of the amount bid; checks of unsuc
cessful bidders to he returned Immediately,
and those of accepted bidders when the con
tract Is completed. Bids must be enclosed
In sealed envelopes, and directed to the
Board, care of the Clerk, and plainly marked
"Bids for Asylum Supplies," and the class
of goods should also, be Inscribed on the enve
lope. Price, fitness and quality being equal,
preference will be given to articles manu
factured, grown or produced In this state.
When a particular article Is specifically
called for. bids for other kind or manufac
ture or brand, equally good, will be enter
tained, but to insure recognition of such
bids, samples of the articles it is proposed to
supply must accompany them.
The Board reserves the right to reject any
or all bids, or to accept or reject any part of
a bid.
