Send Vance to National Tournament The Seattle Athletic Club has decided to send Frank Vance, champion 135 pound wrestler of the Pacific Coast, to the National tournament which com mence , March 28, at Newark. N. J. Vance recently wrestled in Portland and is well known here. He has never aiet defeat and should stand a good chance of winning the championship of the United States in his class. Vance will go to the University of Pennsyl vania to put the finishing touches on his training. Ho will make the trip alone but on hi arrival will be taken 1 Huntington MADE Los Angeles with his suburban railroad service, and Oakland never knew how it felt to grow 'till Borax Smith put his hand to the motorman's crank. Portland has more possibilities than either; the strap-hanging, foot-crushing, overly crowded, slow-going transportation days are over the people have had enough of them. - . , RAPID TRANSIT To Be the Best in the City The Road Is Now Building and Will Be in Operation Within Ninety Days. We Guarantee This or No Sale. The streetcar service to BELLE CREST is really more than streetcar service IT IS RAPID TRANSIT. The car that stops here, there and everywhere could hardly be called rapid transit; a streetcar line turning a corner every few blocks can't do for its patrons what a "bee-line" sys tem can do. The electric to BELLE CREST is as straight as an arrow this means speed. Our agreement with the Railroad Company considers all this we planned it out before hand, and now we offer rapid transit as a peculiarly attractive feature of BELLE CREST. We have paid for rapid service and you get it. BELLE CREST is the most up-to-date new subdivision in Portland this being so, prices should be secondary, although we are selling beautiful lots for no more than others are asking in tracts infinitely less inviting. This advertisement is an invitation to confirm what we are saying of BELLE CREST. An auto-car is at your disposal we will call at your home if you will phone us a couple of hours beforehand. The Spanton Co. Commonwealth Building, on Sixth Street. Phone Main 2828. In charge by friends of Dr. Holler, a well known Seattle coach and athlete. Vance has expressed a desire to have Edgar Frank in his corner the night of the tournament, and it is probable that the two Pacific Coast champions, who are old friends, will help each other out.
