Bpauldinff, ex-treasurer of the Univer sity of Illinois, and ex-president of the Globe Savings Bank, of Chicago, who recently completed a terra of seven years' imprisonment in the penitentiary at Joliet for embezzlement of funds entrusted, to him, began suit in the Federal (Jourt here yesterday against James II. Brady, chairman of the Re publican State Central Committee, and others, to recover valuable interests In the Idaho Canal Company and the Pocatello Power & Irrigation Company. Spauldlng- alleges that while con fined in the Illinois Penitentiary he was defrauded of his interest in these properties. Spaulding charges that through connivance with the trustees handling his property, the Idaho men grained control of his interest in the two companies, worth J270.000, for $20,000.
