Ever been to the New Orleans MardiGrasT Utter throwing off of
restrnint joy reigning uncotifined. It's half social in its aims.
Over in Germany they have their fun at Jahr Markt the yearly mar
ket. Streets are so festooned with banners and signs that one seems to
be approaching- a fairy washday. Every conceivable sort of niert-handise
is exposed in street booths. There's music of every sort, and there are
scores of forms of amusement. Nobody gets angry at a little confetti
and all is merry as a marriage bell. Well we've transformed this great
store into a vast Jahr Markt. One thing we did not translate exactly.
In ordinary street fairs things are sold none too cheap. In this im
mense Olds, Wortman & King "Jahr Markt" there are less than usual
prices. A big eyeful today. Read:
