CHEHAL.T8, Feb. G. (Special.) The
Chehalis Council postponed final action
on the electric franchise ordinance last
night for another week at the request
of the attorney for the company. Judge
Ianghorne. A resolution -was Introduced
hy Councilman Gelsslcr demanding that
the -water company comply with Its fran
thise and furnish the city with a supply
of fresh, pure water, as provided In its
franchise, by March 1, or that Its charter
fce declared forfeited. This resolution
-was lost by a vote of 3 to 3. one member
of the Council being absent. No action
-was taken on the Marshalship. Two ap
pointees of the Mayor have been rejected
fcy the Council and the former Marshal,
S F. Townscnd. still retains his position.
