The new water system of this city iv as tested Jast night, and proved to be entirely satisfactory. It therefore was accepted by the city from the contractors. "Water from the 100,000-gallon reservoir, through a one-Inch nozzle, attached to a 2'-inch hose, reached the height of over 100 feet. The city has 500 feet of 2VHneh of the best hose made, and 300 feet of 2-inch hose, on two hose carts, sufficient to play two streams of water on any build ing of the town where mains are laid. A Rood fire bell that can bp heard at a dis tance of over one mile, is within easy roach of everybody, situated in the main business portion of the city.
