Wll ta Lackaye will present tbe great American drama, "The Pit." at the Marquam Grand Theater this afternoon at 2:80 o'clock and lenlgbt at 8:20. The Marquam was crowded again last night from the orchestra railing to the top of the gallery with a big audience, who enjoyed every minute of Mr. Lackaye and his excellent company of players in one f the most finished performances Portland kw -witnessed for many a day. The Belaseo's Saturday matinees have be onm recognized society events and are pAtrolrd extensively by the most aristo cratic families In the city. Instead of leaving on the regular train at 8:8 for San Francisco, a special train has been chartered, which will not leave till after the evening performance. This will enable the company to give a per formance this evening and give opportunity to ail those who have net been able to see the clever burlosquers so far tble week to do so tonight.
