The hottest weather of the season pre
vailed during the afternoon In the "Inland
empire." At walla Walla a maximum tem
perature of 110 degrees occurred at S P. M.
and at Spokane the thermometer registered
102 degrees and at Boise 100 degrees. No
rain has fallen anywhere in the Pacific
mates. Along the Immediate coast fresx
North Head, Wash., to Eureka. Cat, It Is
foggy and cool.
The Indications are that the hot wave east
of the Cascade Mountains will break by
Saturday afternoon or Sunday and It will
probably be cooler also west of this range ot
Mountains. The pressure eondltlbnn com
bined with the intense heat are Indicative
of showers and they will occur in scattered
localities throughout this district during the
next 24 to 4S hours.
