Cor bett pitched a splendid grame and was backed by faultless support, 'Schlafly and Atz doing" some fast fielding. The visitors took advantage of Emerson's two bad innings, scoring afi their runs in those two. Schlafly was hit on the wrist by a pitched ball, almost breaking the bone. Paul, an unknown In the baseball world, played In the outfield. The Webfooters scored first on Atzs single. Van Bufen was hit by. the pitcher. The latter was forced by Cates, who stole second, and on Gra ham's bad throw to catch him, Atz scored. Householder's single tallied Cates. Until the ninth, Emerson pitched splendid ball. With one down, Van "Buren and Cates singled, and Schlafly was hit by the pitcher. McLean's sin gle scored the first two, and on Run- kle's single Schlafly was caught at the plate on Lynch s quick return, Lynch's double and Casey's single saved" Tacoma from being shut out. San Francisco won a hard-fought ten-inning game from Seattle today by a score of 4 to 3, tying the score In the ninth and wliyilnc out In the tenth. Whalen pitched much better ball than Hall, who was hit for 12 safeties and who was also wild. Until the ninth the score was 3 to 2 in favor of Seattle, errors by Irwin and Wheeler, coupled with hits by Frary and Hart, having put the locals in the lead. A tass to Waldron, an Infield out and a hit by Hildebrand tied the score, and hits by Irwin and Wilson won the game In the tenth. The score: R.H.E. In the Superior Court today. Judge Poindexter decided to dissolve the injunction se cured by C. H. Williams, which for .bade W. H. Lucas to engage In base ball in Spokane. Williams fought to .retain the Injunction, contending that the Pacific National League had not disbanded and stating that he was planning to bring the Tacoma team here as a Spokane team. No Records Broken, but Teams Do Better Than Average for the Y. M. C. A. Contests. Los Angeles athletes in the Y. M. C. A. pentathlon at the Lewis and Clark sta dium yesterday showed their superiority over Seattle and Portland teams by win ning out in almost every one of the Ave events. Three men were entered by Los Angeles Cromwell, Stanton and Dane; four by Portland Livingston, LIghty. Backus and Schwartz; three by Seattle- Howard, Vance and Glsh. 2so records were broken In anv of ih events, but the time, height and distances made by the teams were above the aver age in Y. M. C.
